Working with Assessments


2 Steps - Repeat for Each Type of Assessment (i.e. graded work)

1. Click the Assessment+ button to open the Assessment Entry dialog box. 

2. Complete the green arrows below.

  • Type - Put the type of assessment, for example Tests, Quizzes, Discussions, Research Paper, etc.
  • Details - Provide general information and include a timeline for grading and where to find feedback. Include:
    • Grading timeline
    • Feedback delivery method - Explain how students will receive feedback for each type of assessment - exams, assignments, etc.
    • Make-Up Policy
    • Late Work/Submission Policy
    • Plagiarism Detection Policy (if applicable)
      • Example:  All papers must be submitted through TurnItIn.com.  Failure to do so may result in earning a zero for the paper.
    • Proctoring of Online Exams Policy (if applicable)
      • Example:  All exams are closed book.  Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor, along with a webcam, microphone, and mirror will be used during online exams.  Students will be required to take their exams in a quiet location with a mirror behind them, so that the computer screen is visible during the exam.  Failure to follow the proper procedures may result in earning a zero on the exam.
        • List of acceptable items: (example: scratch paper, calculator)
        • List of prohibited items: (example: phones, textbooks, notes)
  • Click Save.
