Packback is a collection of AI-assisted tools that provide real-time writing coaching and feedback for students writing discussion posts or assignments. Packback also faculty - and students! - with plagiarism and AI detection scores. Packback also provides faculty with grading assistance.
Packback integrates with Canvas and SJR State has a dedicated Curriculum Consultant to help you integrate Packback tools into your courses.
There are several Packback tools available to SJR State's faculty:
Packback Discussions and Polls - This discussion platform has the students write the questions/prompts instead of the instructor. Students receive instant feedback to write fully developed questions and replies and there are time-savers for instructors when it comes to grading.
Packback Deep Dives - Students write papers in Packback Deep Dives and receive real-time feedback and suggestions for improved writing as opposed to having content generated for them like other AI-assisted writing tools or generative AI platforms. Additionally, Packback checks for plagiarism, gauges the originality of content (based on your rubric), and indicates quality of sources. There is also a grading component to Deep Dives which can save you loads of time if you choose to use it.
