While users access the Library's resources via the internet, the Library's pre-licensed material found in databases or the catalog are not freely available/accessible to all internet users; we pay a fee to license that content and make it available to our employees and students online.
Does that mean can users do whatever they want with material they find on the internet for free? The answer is a firm, no. Remember, copyright protection is granted to a content creator upon creating material. Everything on the internet belongs to someone unless it is in the public domain. Having free access to material online does not mean that material is in the public domain.
