Two important studies by Lightcast, a labor market analytics company, highlight recent demographic changes and the impact they are having on the labor market (and our student body). Where once there were more jobseekers than job openings, northeast Florida now only has 72 prospective employees for every 100 jobs, and the gap is widening. An aging population, widespread retirement during the pandemic, and progressively smaller graduating classes each year means that employers are aggressively pursuing workers and dropping entry requirements. Join this session for a facilitated discussion on how these changes will shape who we as a College serve and how we serve them in the upcoming decades.
