Connecting with students often happens in some of the most unexpected ways. In this presentation, I'll share my stories of adoption...both as an adoptee at the age of 18 months and as an adopter of my son 35.5 years later. Sharing this story with my students has led to such positive interactions and over the years, I've learned the benefits of sharing personal stories with students. Join me for a discussion about how bringing a personal touch to the classroom can lead to greater student engagement, participation, and investment.
