Factors Affecting Student Learning, Achievement, and Overall Success

Factors Affecting Student Learning, Achievement, and Overall Success

With a growing emphasis being placed on educational accountability in the form of student retention and graduation rates it is becoming increasingly critical that postsecondary institutions investigate impediments to student learning, and develop systems and plans to address these barriers to overall student success.
This session will examine many of the factors that can negatively impact student learning, share the latest research that has focused on factors affecting student learning, present successful strategies that have proven to be effective in enhancing student learning, and foster discussion around how current issues, such as generational divides, social and economic inequities, personal attitudes, values, and beliefs can impact overall student learning and achievement in a higher education environment.

Presenter: Dr. Douglass Lobo, Student Affairs
