SJR State’s Divisions of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development are in the process of implementing the Concourse Syllabus Management System, a web-based platform, so everyone--students, instructors, staff members, and administrators--can access their syllabi from anywhere and at any time. Concourse’s Canvas integration and single sign-on compatibility will provide multiple syllabi access points, assisting SJR State in meeting legislative mandates regarding posting of syllabi and textbooks well in advance of each term’s start date. Join Dr. Jordan and AVP Keller to learn more about this project, the timeline of its phased rollout, and how Concourse will impact faculty, staff, and students.

February 2022: The Nuts and Bolts of SJR State Data Classifications: Things You Need to Know Before Sending that Email!
All SJR State data and files at the College are assigned one of the following classifications: confidential, internal, or public. Collections of diverse information should be classified to the most secure classification represented in the document or data. These standards apply to all data and/or information that is created, collected, stored, or processed by the College in both electronic and non-electronic formats. In this presentation, Adam Brazzeal will provide further discussion and examples and answer questions regarding the internal and external emailing of student X numbers, student schedules, personnel records, and more. January 2022: Updated Recruitment/Hiring Process
SJR State HR Director Chuck Romer will present an update to the recruitment and hiring process including the implementation of SJR State College’s Veterans’ Preference Recruitment Plan. They will also provide a description of the routing and approval process for posting and filling positions. Anyone involved in the hiring process is strongly encouraged to attend.
January 2022: Using Ally for Accessibility
This presentation will demonstrate how Ally is used in identifying accessibility issues in course design and delivery, how faculty can use Ally to improve course accessibility, and how students use Ally. This will be a high-level presentation designed for department leaders from Academic Affairs, Workforce Development, and Student Affairs in addition to other interested staff.
