Excel Short Cut Keys—Making Your Job Tasks Easier for You!

An underutilized technique of increasing work efficiency is to use Excel shortcuts—or shortcut combination keys. Visualize simply pressing two or three keys on the keyboard as opposed to moving your hand to the mouse to accomplish a task in Excel. These shortcuts can perform many functions, from ones as simple as navigation within the spreadsheet to filling in formulas or grouping data, and are of particular help to users with carpel tunnel and vision or mobility disabilities. In this session, the presenter will explain how and why to use Excel Short Cut Keys, making your daily tasks faster and easier to complete.

If you are like me--i.e., not that computer savvy--and always wonder how “others” (the tech savvy crowd) are using Canvas and multiple activities in their classrooms, this is your session. The Learnin’ Safari InstructureCon 2019 Conference that took place last summer allowed those of us who attended the opportunity to take a peek at what the technophiles are doing to make their classes more appealing, interesting, and interactive. This session intends to be (in layman’s terms) an overview of what was presented there, from GIFs to motivation, games, or apps, to name a few. Presenter and audience will discuss, in an open forum, a variety of topics related to Canvas and how to implement a number of activities in their classes.

Building a Problem Based Learning (PBL) Culture in the Classroom

Participants will be provided with PBL tools during the session and given the time to test them in a practical scenario. They will be a short introduction to the cycle of Critical Thinking, the algorithm for problem solving steps, the PBL types, a mention on practical critical thinking in a complex world, creativity, where ideas come from, and intellectual standards and integration.
